HLS IN DUBLIN!

HLS have worked with international teachers every summer, and this August was no exception. Two Italian schools sent over 20 teachers to Dublin for a long course covering the teaching of CLIL subjects. CLIL stands for ‘content, language, integrated learning’, essentially meaning that teachers are required to teach some of their subject content through the medium of another language; in this case English. The teachers we worked with represented a range of subjects, including Maths, Physics, History, Computer Science and English.

EAL Webinars for Jersey Schools

This term has seen the development of our training in Jersey, linking with the EAL Head of Service and the EAL Team in Jersey. The partnership has launched with a series of 10 webinars during this term. The sessions were wide-ranging with topics from TA training on ‘Key Strategies to support EAL Learners’ to ‘Developing Grammatical Accuracy in the Writing of EAL Learners’. HLS joins the Global Education Initiative hosted by the Global Education and Training Institute in India.We were pleased to have the opportunity to join colleagues from 50 different countries for the ‘13th Education Leadership international Virtual Conference’ held online from 21 st to 24th January 2021.The Conference for Education leaders and teachers focused on key issues ineducation today and gave opportunities for Round Table sharing of ideas and practice.
